UPDATE! Limited Openings for Music Lessons

Hi there!! Well, as most of you know, I left full time teaching last July 2009, after many years in the field full time. I’ve had quite an interesting road since then. I had the time to explore my own musical adventures, and have learned ALOT!! I am continuing on the path I am currently on, but I also feel my life is now in a position where I can take on a limited class load. I am once again offering weekly music lessons for kids only, ages 6-13, in guitar, piano and voice. Lessons will be scheduled on a week to week basis, to find a time that matches both our schedules. This should be relatively easy to do, seeing my class load will be very small. I also teach EVERY OTHER FRIDAY in West Allis, WI at UNCLE BOBS MUSIC STORE. I have a few openings left there, but not many. Lessons are $20 per 30 minutes both at my Cedarburg Studio and Uncle Bobs Music Store. In rare occasions, I will travel to your home for $25 for 30 minutes, although I prefer to stay at my Cedarburg Studio. So please feel free to contact me, if you are interested in resuming lessons, or if your child would be a new student.

I also hold a SONGWRITING WORKSHOPS FOR KIDS - 1 Saturday per month, for a 2 hour time slot. {2-4 kids max} Please look on my SONGWRITING WORKSHOPS FOR KIDS page for more information. This is a fun, creative, complementary educational format for the student already involved in weekly lessons with another teacher. Next Workshop - July 24th, 2010, Noon-2pm.

KWE Songwriting Workshop for Kids : 11/21/09

Hi Everyone! I will be holding a continuation of KWE Songwriting Workshop for Kids on Saturday, November 21st, 2009, Noon-2pm. We will be studying further blues chords, song structure and improv. We will work on each student’s song ideas, and do some recording for those ready with their Blues Song from earlier sessions.

All instruments welcome, and my instruments [keyboards, guitars, percussion] will be available for use, as well as recording studio. NEW participants completely welcome to begin their project. The workshop fee is $30, and all materials are provided. Please contact Jennifer at dekorah@me.com for more information and to reserve a spot. Ages 9 to 14. [Some exceptions may apply]

Workshop held in Cedarburg at Jennifer’s studio.

{Alternate Session on Saturday, Nov 14th, Noon-2pm will also be held for those unable to attend the main workshop on 11-21-09. }

10-31-09 KWE Songwriting Workshop for KiDS

Hi Everyone! I will be holding another Keyzwitheaze Songwriting Workshop for Kids on Saturday, OCTOBER 31st, 2009 from 12pm - 2pm in my Studio in Cedarburg, WI. I already checked the Halloween Trick-Or-Treat Schedule, so Cedarburg, WI Kids won’t be missing out!! {Trick-Or-Treating is later in the day. And Thiensville and Mequon, WI TOT will be on Sunday, Oct. 25, 2009} We will be continuing our workshop on THE BLUES - Song Structure & Improvisation & Blues Chords. We will also be writing and recording a song together! Feel free to bring your instrument along, although there will be plenty of guitars, keyboards and percussion here.

Thank You Everybody!

Well hello Everyone! By now, most of you know I will no longer be teaching private lessons full time because I have gotten very busy with my other company - Dekorah Entertainment. I am singing, playing music, songwriting for films, acting, doing voice-over/studio work and singing telegrams, just to name a few! I have had SUCH a great time working with all my students, both in my studio and in their homes. We have all been through so much together, and I will never forget you. I plan on keeping in contact with everyone as well. I will keep up this website, but I will change the focus to bringing you all kinds of fun music tips. I WILL still be teaching periodic Songwriting Workshops for Kids. Many of my students have written ALOT of original music, and I would like to continue working with those that have an interest in that area. I will send out emails when these workshops occur, and I will also post them online. Please visit back often, and leave comments, let me know what you are up to. PLEASE stay in touch! You have ALL affected my life greatly - and I will never forget ANY of you…

Hal Leonard Guitar Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 with CD’s. I highly recommend this series - it will last a long time! The play along CD’s make practice a lot more fun, and improve timing.

Milwaukee Children’s Choir

My piano student Jenna Burns sings in the Milwaukee Children’s Choir. They are having their 1st Annual Sing-a-thon! MCC has hundreds of singers grades 1-12. Many of these singers need financial aid so they can travel the world and sing concerts. Also the MCC itself needs donations to help re-coup the costs for running this artistic program. MONICA PETERSON!!!!

I am back on track to awarding Student of the Month Certificates and Acknowledgements! Monica has been an excellent piano student for many years. She is very intelligent, and holds down THREE part time jobs. In addition, she loves music and playing the piano. She especially loves musical selections from movies. She will be performing in the KeyzWithEaze 2008 Fall Recital this year as a special guest. She will be playing the be-loved ballad ”My Heart Will Go On” from the blockbuster movie - THE TITANIC.

Way to go Monica! And thanks for all your hard work and hilarious sense of humor!
